“Like a wild flower; she spent her days, allowing herself to grow, not many knew of her struggle, but eventually all knew of her light.” (- Nikki Rowe).
It’s been a while since I updated the blog, so get ready for some good stories and amazing pictures. The quote definitely connects with this weekend, so keep reading for a more detailed story!
Last week wasn’t that interesting and existed out of going to school, cooking, cleaning and a fun excursion that connected to last weeks theme; “The Environment”. But then, the weekend came… It started off a little sad, as Saturday’s weather wasn’t that great. But we made the best out of our plans and headed to the train station around 9:00 a.m. After a train ride, which we spent snoozing out and catching up on some sleep, we got to Morisset Kangaroo Park.
Overwhelmed by the cuteness we totally forgot it rained and got our bananas out of the bag as a snack for the kangaroos. Of course, these wild animals are no pets nor tame so I treated them with respect and regard. Some of them luckily were hungry enough so that we could feed them and at the same time take some cute pictures. After an amazing time with the kangaroos we went home, got some food and had a great evening chilling in the courtyard with amazing people.
Sunday morning my alarm went bright and early again. No breakfast for me because we had a brunch planned at The Grounds of Alexandria. This old pie factory was turned into an amazing place for food stands, flowers, markets, café’s and some shops. I was absolutely stunned when we walked into this paradise. You would never expect this place to be somewhere in the city, but that’s exactly where it is. We walked around and made a reservation at the restaurant. Unfortunately we had to wait 35 minutes, but in the meanwhile we walked around and soaked up the beauty of the gardens and the warmth of the sun. After a great brunch (which turned out to be more lunch than brunch) we took some more pictures and did some small shopping at the little food stands and flower shops that can be found. Are you in Sydney? This is a must to see and experience!
When we got home it was not that late so my roommate and I spent the last hours of daylight doing laundry, cleaning the room and getting the groceries for the upcoming week. Despite the defects and negative points of the room, I love having a place for myself. I’ve learned so much in these weeks about my abilities and me. Not only because of adventures and fun stuff, but also because I have to learn how to deal with struggles and other responsibilities.
There it is, an amazing weekend written out with, as I think so myself, lovely pictures. Take a look at my other social media to stay updated for everyday activities and follow the blog to become a V.I.P. member. Till next time!
