We all know that lipstick can’t solve problems, but it comes pretty close. Either you wear your lips pink, peach, red, nude or any other colour possible, the most important thing is that the lipstick (or –balm or -gloss) wears comfortably. Clarins came out with the Instant Light Lip Perfector Collection and if you want to know more about this product, you are in just the right place!
This collection holds 8 colours that have a natural or nude vibe to them. Every product claims three things for your lips:
- Smooth, luminous and naturally enhanced lips;
- Moisturized, nourished, fuller lips and total comfort;
- Enhanced protection.
The packaging is, like we would expect of Clarins, very simple with a chic vibe to it. However, I do think the dark red colour of the packaging doesn’t fit well with the pastel pink and peaches of the tubes. The product itself holds 12 ml. (0.35 Oz) of the content in a tube matching with the colour that’s inside. I do find this very handy as you can immediately see what colour you’re dealing with, instead of having to look on each cap or bottom of every product. When taking of the cap, you’ll see it’s not your typical lip-gloss applicator, instead it goes by a soft, fluffy cushion.
I bought two out of the 8 shades (01 – Rose Shimmer and 02 – Apricot Shimmer). When swatching on to the wrist, I noticed that the texture is quite thick and just slightly tacky. There was a subtle glossy vibe without being overwhelming. After a while, the product sank into the skin and didn’t leave greasy feeling but was still noticeable.
After applying on the lips I noticed that a little goes a long way. The colours are very sheer but still give you a hint of their initial colour. I wouldn’t recommend building up this product, as it will leave a tacky feeling for a longer period of time. When applying a small amount of the creamy textured gloss, it is taken up into the skin very quickly and leaves a comfortable and healthy feeling to the lip. During this process, the colour does fade a little but it still softly shines through.
If you want to go for a natural yet healthy looking lip, this is the perfect product for you. My personal favourite is 02 as I feel like this fits best with my skin tone. My lips feel hydrated for about 3 hours after applying, but at this point the shine and most of the colour has faded. The Perfector costs around €20,- and I do feel like (including the fact you partly pay for a brand name) this is a good price for this product. Overall I would definitely say I like the product, but am not sure about buying it again. If you want to try it out yourself, scroll down and click on the link!
