Some think makeup is only used as a mask of products to hide behind. But makeup is so much more than that, it’s a way to express yourself, to let out creativity and take a moment to fully connect with who you are. Besides that, I see makeup as a true form of art. Every piece of art starts with a base, so let’s talk foundation!
Now, before we dive into a foundation fountain, let’s start with step 1. This means cleaning and moisturising the skin so it stays hydrated and healthy underneath the makeup we apply. After taking care of your skin, make sure to wait about 30 minutes before applying your primer. Click here to check out how I take care of my skin. When the primer is applied and fully set, it’s time for the real deal. Let’s break down my top 5 favourite foundations:
This foundation has medium to full coverage so a little goes a long way. The packaging makes sure you can use the foundation till the last drop and because it comes in a little container you can easily measure out what you’ll need without wasting any product. Great for all skin types but is great for a riper skin and comes in 8 shades.
A foundation and spot corrector all in one, ready to go in your handbag. I absolutely love the packaging and technology behind this baby, as it contains a concealer, mirror and foundation. The high coverage corrector, which is enriched with vitamin CG, is great for dark spots, circles and imperfections. The foundation is not full coverage but has a beautiful application and is buildable. This product comes in 8 shades.
Like you can see on the pictures, this foundation is a few shades darker than I would usually pick. I love using this one in summer to create a sun kissed look by applying the product on the contour areas. This foundation is great for normal to dry skin and gives the you a healthy glow. With a more liquid substance it applies beautifully and hydrates the skin up to 8 hours. To obtain in 10 shades.
Do you want a great looking, long lasting and matt foundation? Then this is your match. I love that this very affordable foundation comes in many shades for (almost) every skin tone (unlike the others unfortunately). This is an amazing drugstore foundation for normal to oily skin. Even though my skin tends to get a little more on the dryer side, I can use this one perfectly after mixing in one to three drops of facial oil with the foundation. This product is not full coverage but is buildable and leaves a nice matt finish. To be found in 32 shades.
This baby is definitely one I would recommend. The product feels very hydrating and looks great on the skin without having a heavy finish. The foundation can be used by all skin types and has a lifting effect.
