Allow the Adventure

You only have one life, how many years this life will contain is uncertain. But what you do know is that a year exist out of 365 days, everyday out of 24 hours and every hour out of 60 minutes. It’s not about how much time you have on hands, it’s about what you did, do and will do with this time. Every minute, day and year, make it count!I’ve always been a very shy and quiet girl, drawing or reading for hours, perfectly fine on my own. Slowly I started (and still am) changing, from a different style and hobbies, to the development of new characteristics. One of them was my wanderlust, not only towards the world, but also towards exploring the life around me and trying new things.

I speak from my heart when I say: “For the sake of the soul, venture out. Discover new countries, new activities, new hobbies, new friends etc. This life you are living right now, is the only one you’ll get. Make sure you won’t regret it at the end of the ride.” This view came to me when I finally went skydiving.

Nervous and insecure as I was, I still did it at 15 and 16 years old. The feeling was indescribable, not only the action itself, also the feeling that occurs in your body and mind. This step was an achievement and I remember being so proud, confident and overall intensely happy afterwards. These feelings, in combination with the addicting adrenaline rush, made me realise that, this is living. Not the “look at me risking my life while doing dangerous shit” part (okay, maybe a bit), but more likely the part of taking matters into my own hands and doing things I wanted, creating a life how I want to live it.

From that point, I tried to take (almost) every opportunity to discover new things. I went to Poland for volunteer work, skydived a second time and in September, my biggest adventure will start. With this blogpost, I hope you are inspired to really shape your own life and give it everything you’ve got. Because life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
